Events Schedule 2019:

  • Welshpool1Welshpool Transport Festival 22nd-23rd June

Cracker the Boathorse Returns for the Craic!
The organisers of the annual Welshpool Transport Festival, taking place over the weekend of 22/23 June, are delighted to announce the return of boathorse “Cracker” to this year’s event. After last year’s success he will be running horse-drawn boat trips on both the Saturday and Sunday. Starting and finishing in the centre of town these popular trips will, no doubt, be in great demand. Subsidised by the town council and thanks to monies from the Heritage Lottery fund, these 1-hour cruises will only cost £3 per person, and can be purchased on the day.
In addition, Cracker, his team and “Countess” (the boat that follows him everywhere), will be operating on this isolated section of the restored Montgomery Canal for the two weeks prior and the fortnight following the festival. During this four week period, trips will be available over this entire 12 mile section. Excursions will take place between Refail (Berriew) through Welshpool down to Arddleen. For details of the trip schedule and to book places (the boat can accommodate up to 12 passengers), please phone 07941 429980, or email hello@bywatercruises.co.uk to book your places.
