Volunteering

We are always keen to open up opportunities for others. If you are interested in canals, boats, horses or a combination thereof, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We have grand plans for this year, and one area of development is a ‘Friends of Cracker’ volunteer group which could involve the following areas:

  • Horsemanship
  • Walking the towpath with Cracker and Crew
  • Steering Countess and assisting on board before, during and after trips
  • ‘Learn how to horseboat’ either 1/2 or full day experiences

There is no age restriction to this, although, under 16s would require parent/guardian permission/support to join up.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Cracker, you and I are old friends and I have had the pleasure of your company on many occasions over the past three years.
It would be a privilage for me to be one of the ‘Friends of Cracker’ team!
I have skills in boating , photography and tourism and love to promote healthy outdoor activities.
I also have passenger/people skills acquired during my work with ‘Passenger carrying Trip Boats’ during my working life.(I am now retired)
Please view ‘Friends of Shelf Bank Oswestry’ page and ‘Carol Booth Photography’ page.
You have been photographed and featured on more than one occasion !!!
Although I have had mobility issues in the past, since now having two new knees my full
    ‘Mobility’ has returned.
Look forward to hearing from you,
    Kind Regards
    Carol
